Country Markets Limited is born, established by the Irish Homespun Society and the Irish Countrywomen's Association. It was founded as a response to a need for women's autonomy and income generation in a time when opportunities were limited.

The First Market Blooms

Joining Forces
In early 1947, Country Markets Ltd affiliates with the Irish Co-operative Organisation Society (I.C.O.S.), becoming an independent registered co-operative Society. This partnership strengthens our commitment to co-operative principles.

Branches Blossom
Throughout the 1950s and 1970s, more branches sprout up, each offering a platform for producer members to market their farm, garden, home produce, and traditional crafts.
