Bord Bia Crowns the All Ireland Potato Champion 2015
David Curran our National Treasurer was crowned the All Ireland Potato Champion 2015 at Tullamore Show last weekend. The competition is designed to increase the level of awareness among growers of what constitutes a good quality potato. Congratulations to David from all our markets around the country!

Our Regional Meetings are held annually in different locations around the country. This year meetings are taking place in Vienna Woods Hotel, Cork on 3 March, in the Pembroke Hotel, Kilkenny on 4th March and in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Sligo on Monday 10th March.
Workshops on communication and customer services will take place on the day and will be presented by Irish Business Training Ltd. Limerick.

National Ploughing Championships 2013
Country Markets were among the 1400 exhibitors at this years National Ploughing Championships in Ratheniska, Co Laois.
Now rated as one of Europe's largest Outdoor Exhibitions and Agricultural Trade Shows the National Ploughing Championships attracted over 81,000 people on Day 1 this year.
Facts & Figures from last year’s event.
- Visitors to the Championships spent just under €36.5 million during the three days of the event. This spending resulted in a tax take of over €6.6 million for the National Exchequer.
- 80% of attendees at the event were not local.
- Gender profile is 37% female, 63% male.
- Machinery is the main attraction in the Trade Exhibition.
- Personal shopping accounted for over €7 million.
- Trade purchases were in excess of €9.6 million. Food expenditure accounted for €9.5 million.

Electric Picnic 2013
Electric Picnic 2013 saw Country Markets introduce a new dimension to their arena of fine handmade produce and crafts.
This year our 'Calm The Mind' space offered relaxation and entertainment of varying kinds from a very talented young violinist, a wonderful baritone singer, a bit of theatre and a fabulous and energetic afternoons performance from an Indie Rock artist.
Country Markets showcase yet again the quality and the diversity of local community.
We want to thank everyone who came back to us this year and those who have just discovered us. We are very proud of our produce and our Best on your Doorstep Bridgestone Award has been a wonderful endorsement from John and Sally Mc Kenna.
