Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of the Society

will take place on Monday 22nd May 2017, in Wynn's Hotel,

35 -39 Abbey St Lower Dublin 1

commencing at 11.15am


The Muriel Gahan Rosebowl Competition 2017

The craft chosen for this year is a necklace in any medium and any length

The competition is open to all members of Country Markets Ltd and the Irish Countrywomen's Association

There is no entry fee. The closing date is Monday 24th April 2017

The winner will receive the Rose Bowl trophy and a certificate. The trophy will be held for one year and the presentation will take place at our Annual General Meeting in May .

One entry per person.

Entries should be sent to Country Markets Ltd, 9 - 13 Blackhall Place, Dublin 7, or may be left at reception Monday to Friday from 9am -1pm or 2pm to 5pm only.

The work must not bear the name of the entrant. but a note of address and telephone details should be included.

All entries are sent at own risk.

RDS National Craft Awards 2015

Congratulations to Joe Hogan, winner of this years RDS National Crafts awards for basketry. Joe won the Established Maker Award of Excellence - €5,000 & California Gold Medal & Country Markets Ltd award - €500.

Bord Bia Crowns the All Ireland Potato Champion 2015

David Curran our National Treasurer was crowned the All Ireland Potato Champion 2015 at Tullamore Show last weekend.  The competition is designed to increase the level of awareness among growers of what constitutes a good quality potato. Congratulations to David from all our markets around the country!

Country Markets Guide to Good Hygiene Practice

Tom Hayes, T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine launched the Irish Country Markets updated guide to good hygiene practice. This guide is the collaborative work of the Food Safety Authority of Ireland, the Health Service Executive and Country Markets Ltd and is aimed at the low-risk producers in country markets who account for the majority of food produced and sold at our weekly markets.
